Pushing and Pulling Information: Making RSS Work for You – John Pederson, WiscNet (Rm QR - Apple Lab)

RSS (real simple syndication) is underlying technology that plays an increasingly critical role on how we push and pull information online. This workshop will work to define this new information landscape, make the case for its importance moving forward, and then get hands on with technologies that ride on this technology. We'll explore social bookmarking with Delicious and how to make Google search and automatically fetch for you within Google Reader. The session finishes with discussion and examples of how this technology can and is applied in libraries.  [I, WM, Speakers, Computer Lab - Preregistration Required
